About The King of Fighters 2003

The King of Fighters 2003 was the last KOF released on the Neo Geo and the start of a new story, the Ash saga. Its hero is Ash Crimson, a mysterious young fighter who uses green flames, alongside newcomers Shen Woo and Duo Lon. Terry Bogard gets a new look, and Gato and Tizoc from Garou: Mark of the Wolves join the fight.

The story ends with Mukai, a member of a mysterious clan linked to Orochi.

How it plays

KOF 2003 changes the way rounds work. Instead of strict one-on-one rounds, you can switch characters in the middle of the fight with the Multi-Shift system – tag-team style – and even switch during combos for extra damage. Before the match you choose a team leader, who gets an exclusive Leader Desperation Move. The pace is fast and aggressive.
