About Metal Slug X

Metal Slug X (1999) is the version of Metal Slug 2 that SNK always wanted to make – and for many players it is the best Metal Slug of all. It keeps the four heroes, the mummies, aliens and vehicles of Metal Slug 2, then remixes everything: stages are rearranged, new enemies and bosses appear, item placement changes, and missions are often harder. Most importantly, the infamous slowdown of Metal Slug 2 is greatly reduced.

It became one of the most played games in Neo Geo arcades across Latin America, Brazil and Asia, and its co-op is still the gold standard for the series.

New weapons

On top of the classic H, R, F, S and L, Metal Slug X adds:

Iron Lizard – rockets that skate along the ground.
Drop Shot – bouncing grenades.
Enemy Chaser – homing missiles that seek out targets.
Super Grenade – a more powerful grenade launcher.

Weapons also have more ammo than in Metal Slug 2, and you will find extra-ammo items more often.
