About Final Fight

Final Fight (1989) is the beat 'em up that defined the genre for a generation. The Mad Gear gang has kidnapped Jessica, the daughter of Metro City's mayor Mike Haggar. Haggar – a former pro wrestler – teams up with Jessica's boyfriend Cody and the ninja Guy to take the city back, one street at a time.

Haggar – slow but immensely strong, with piledrivers and suplexes.
Cody – the balanced street fighter, who can also use a knife.
Guy – fast and agile with quick combos.

What makes it special

Final Fight's big, detailed sprites were a shock in 1989, and its hard-hitting combat set the standard for every Capcom brawler that followed. It introduced memorable bosses – Damnd, Sodom, Edi E., Rolento, Abigail and Belger – and the famous bonus stage where you smash a car to pieces.

Tips

Haggar's piledriver is his best move – grab an enemy, then press jump and attack.
Use the special attack (attack + jump) when surrounded; it costs a little health but saves lives.
Pick up pipes, swords and knives – they increase your damage a lot.
